Obituary of Frank Van Dongen

Born April 6th, 1933 in Made, Netherlands passed peacefully at home surrounded by Family on Aug. 7th 2013. Frank loved almost everything about farming, except his lack of control over Mother Nature; as much as he tried, he was rarely able to make it rain. After he retired, his passion became golf. Thankfully, he was able to control the golf ball better than he was ever able to control Mother Nature. He was also passionate about his wife, Rea (Van Dongen - no, this is not a mistake!), of 55 years, his children, grandchildren and great grandson. He was the dear father of Judy (Michael), Linda (Tim), Frank (Paula), Michael (Rochel), grandfather of Nathan, Andrea, Jordan, Courtney, Amanda, Sarah, Travis, Ashley and great grandfather of Riley. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Corrie (John), Cathy, Nellie (Cornelius), Toni (Tony), Case (Simonne), Helen. Predeceased by brother Peter, sister Mary, brothers-in-law Rene and Wilfred. Dear brother-in-law of Corrie (Jim), Lee (Sandra) and Willi (Waynne). Frank was a very giving and compassionate person and will be remembered by anyone whose lives he touched. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a donation are asked to consider Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital or London Regional Cancer Centre. The family would like to thank Dr. B. Dingle, staff at LHSC, Dr. D. Crowley, Dr. P. Ferner, CCAC (Joyce, Janette, April), the VON (Telly) and Drew Peddie of Strathroy Shopper's Drug Mart for his personal after hours delivery.
