Gordon Walsh

Obituary of Gordon Arnold Walsh

It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Gordon Arnold Walsh (“Bandit”) at the age of 68 after a brief yet fierce battle with cancer. He was in the comfort of his own home with the love of his family surrounding him. Husband to Charlotte (née McLeod), the love of his life for the past 48 years. Loving Dad of Rick and Tracy (Rob Gordon). Proud Papa of Dylan and Brady. Survived by his siblings Ida (the late Owen) Bice, Jim (Elda) Walsh, Betty Matthews, and Marjorie (the late Bob) Harris. Gord will be forever remembered by his extended family and many friends.

Cremation has taken place. In keeping with Gord’s wishes, in lieu of a formal service the family invites you to join them for an open house Celebration of Life in the backyard of their home, 158 Queen Street, Ailsa Craig; on Saturday, July 13th, 2019 from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. All are welcome to stay into the evening to say cheers to Bandit; you could always find him in the shed with a beer in his hand, waiting for friends to join him.

Donations may be made to the VON Middlesex-Elgin, Ailsa Craig Legion, or a charity of your choice. Arrangements entrusted to DENNING’S OF AILSA CRAIG, (519) 293-3331. Share a memory at www.ailsacraigfuneralhome.com.

Operation: Kick Cancer’s Ass didn’t have the outcome we hoped. But cancer didn’t win. Gord won at life. We won at love. As he always said: “Never say whoa in a bad spot”.
