Obituary of Frederick Arnel

Arnel, Frederick (Fred) Grant - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Fred. Quietly in the early hours of Tuesday September 10, 2013 with his family at his side his short but valiant battle with cancer ended peacefully. Beloved husband of the late Ruth (nee Bender), father to Jonathan (Joanne) and Veronica (deceased). He was a loving grandfather to Kevin and Kristen as well, more recently, a very special companion to Mary Helen Graham. Brother to the late Ken (Vera), the late Lloyd (Emily), Bill (Barb), the late Jean (Jack) Chambers, Ilene Rickmen, and Cliff (Adeline) and many nieces and nephews. Fred was an avid hunter and fisher and enjoyed sharing in these hobbies with his family and friends he was a voracious reader. Fred was a caring man who was generous with his time and experience to anyone who needed help. Cremation has taken place and friends and family will be received for visitation at Nairn Mennonite Church, 26459 Bear Creek Rd Nairn ON, on Wednesday September 18, 2013 from 7:00-9:00PM. A memorial service will take place at the same location on Saturday September 21, 2013 at 2:00PM. A private interment of the ashes will be held at a later date. Memorial donations can be made to the Nairn Mennonite church (roof fund, sound system fund or children's ministry fund) or to the Canadian Cancer Society.
