Obituary of Leona Marguerite Hughes

It is with profound sadness the family announces the passing of Leona Hughes at Craigwiel Gardens on Tuesday, July 18th, 2017 in her 89th year. Beloved wife of the late Donald Hughes (2003). Loving mother of Ronna Austin of Ailsa Craig, Rhea Rowe of Kitchener, Dwight Hughes of Ailsa Craig and Debbie Hughes (Dan O’Neil Jnr.) of Birr. Cherished Grandma of Sawyer and Emily Rowe, Beth, Ava and Thomas O’Neil. Survived by her brother-in-law Clifford Ritchie and sister-in-law Jean McComb. Leona will be remembered by her nieces, nephews and friends. As per Leona’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A private Graveside Service will be held in Nairn Cemetery at a later date. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to Ailsa Craig and District Historical Society, Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
