Obituary of Verlyn Irene Campbell

Campbell, Verlyn Irene It is with profound sadness the family of Verlyn Irene Campbell announces her peaceful passing on her 90th birthday on August 19th, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. She joins her late husband Ray Campbell (2007) together with the Lord. Loving mother of her eldest son Robert Campbell and life partner Linda Wein of Ailsa Craig and her youngest son Roger Campbell of Strathroy. Dear grandmother of Jim Wein (Crystal Boyle), Cheryl (Regan) Hopkins and LeRoy “Bud” (Terri-Lyn) Wein. Great-grandmother to Riley, Hailey, Abbie, Angelica, and Lincoln. Verlyn will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Survived by her sisters-in-law Marg Browra, Florence Campbell and Pat Gilmore. Predeceased by her sister Ila Currie. Verlyn was born to her parents Robert and Gladys Gladwelll in 1928 and was one of two children. She will be remembered for her innate selflessness and passion for being part of and giving back to the community. Verlyn was active in her church with the United Church Women, volunteer driver and worked with elections Canada for many years. A special thank you to Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital for their kindness and support as well as many nearby neighbours who have been such good friends to Verlyn over the years. Visitation will be held at DENNING’S OF AILSA CRAIG on Tuesday, August 21st, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00p.m. Visitation will continue on Wednesday, August 22nd from 10:00 a.m. until the time of funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment to follow at Nairn Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Food Bank, Ailsa Craig United Church or a charity of one’s choice.
